DESTINATION
FRENCH RIVIERA

CAP-FERRATVillefranche-sur-Mer.  Saint-Jean. St Raphael.  Beaulieu-sur-Mer

From the end of the 19th century, the Cap Ferrat peninsula established itself as a holiday resort: families from Nice would go there for a picnic in a horse-drawn carriage. Very quickly, the infrastructure began to develop, along with the first hotels and restaurants around the port. Wealthy foreign families and crowned heads made it a popular destination in the early 20th century. Then it was artists who fell in love with the peninsula, in particular Matisse, Chagall, Picasso and Cocteau. Come and discover this lush peninsula dotted with beautiful mansions, a little paradise nestled between Nice and the Principality of Monaco. -

Best time to visit

The most popular months to visit the Côte d’Azur are July and August when the weather is hot and the French take their summer holiday. There’s even a name for these French vacationers—”Les Juilletistes” and “Les Aoûtiens”. If you plan to visit during these months, make sure to book in advance and expect high season prices. June and September are some of the best months to visit as the weather is still warm and there are fewer visitors. While the winter temperatures are mild (50°s F), expect some rain and seasonal closures.
